Starting Monday, May 3 and running until Friday, May 7, we are sending you on a scavenger hunt around Sault Ste. Marie with a chance to win eight great prizes from our partner destinations across the state!
Keep a close eye on our Facebook and Instagram accounts for clues about locations to go to for your chance to win. We are holding this scavenger hunt to celebrate National Travel and Tourism Week, and we have teamed up with over 30 amazing destinations from around Michigan for a statewide scavenger hunt!
How to play
Each day we will be dropping clues about a Sault Ste. Marie location to head to for your chance to win a gift that can be redeemed at locations across Michigan. You can participate by following along to our posts, deciphering our clues, and taking a photo at the selected local businesses that we’re alluding to. We will be giving away two gifts each day until Friday when we will give away one prize that you’ll for sure not want to miss.
On Monday, Wednesday and Friday we will post our clues on Facebook at 11 a.m. and our posts will be used for you to submit entries to win. On Tuesday and Thursday, we will post clues at 11 a.m. on Instagram and then those who respond with photos tagged with #SooMiPowerOfTravel and #MiPowerOfTravel will be entered into a random drawing to win those days’ prizes. Responses must be photos of the participant on the day the clues are posted at the business, holding the signs we will be leaving at each location. Individuals are limited to one prize. Rules are subject to change based on participation.
You will have a chance to win gifts from: Alpena, Baraga County, Cadillac, Marquette, Mt. Pleasant, South Haven, St. Ignace, and West Branch. Prizes will range in value from $25-$200 and range from being redeemable at retail stores, restaurants, downtown shops, and beyond.

The Big Giveaway
While the physical scavenger hunt is only happening hte first week of May, the social contest is running until May 31. Continue posting on social media with the hashtag #MiPowerOfTravel for your chance to be selected to win one of 10 grand prizes that include overnight stays and more goodies to make for the perfect Michigan road trip. The entry period for the contest closes June 1.
