Scouring the internet for the big things about a destination is fine, but what about those little details? How long are you going to pour over your smartphone looking for the shipping traffic schedule? Forever, because there isn’t one! Use your phone to give the staff a call and talk to a real person about your vacation.  The staff can give you the daily summer hotline phone number to call for a schedule and so much more. If you don’t have time to call e-mail them, they’ll happily send you a detailed reply with links and contact information.

“No question is unimportant.” said Mariah Goos, Communication Coordinator “A caller once asked me when the Tall Ships would be going through the Soo Locks to Lake Superior (late July to early August during even years). She wasn’t able to make the dates I gave her, so I suggested she see them on their return trip through the locks. She asked “What if they go the other way?” I politely explained that there’s only one way in and out of Lake Superior, through the Soo Locks.”
