Tower of History
PANORAMIC CITY VIEWS

Standing high above every other building in Sault Ste. Marie, the Tower of History, is one of the most distinguishable landmarks in Michigan’s first city. Perched 210 feet in the air, the Tower of History offers unbeatable breathtaking views.

Construction on the Tower of History began in 1968 as the “Shrine of the Missionaries.” It was meant to tell the tales of early missionaries in the Sault Ste. Marie area. The Sault Historic Sites donated it in 1980, and its scope was then widened to include Native American and missionary history.

Marie, to the Canadian waterfront and northern wilderness, and more.
