Lynn Trail System

Closer to home is the Lynn Trail System. Located in the Minneapolis Recreation Area, a short 5-minute drive from downtown transports you into a haven for bird watching and an easy escape into nature. You can easily snowshoe or cross country ski these user-friendly trails, and then head back downtown for a quick warm-up at one of the many cozy coffee shops.

Algonquin Ski Trails

For beautifully groomed, winding trails through the Eastern U.P woodlands, the Algonquin Ski Trail is for you. This trail system has 5 different cross country skiing loops mapped out in various degrees of difficulty and length to suit any experience level and a separate trail for snowshoeing! Explore the trails as a family or take a solo adventure to unwind, day or night!

Southern Ashmun Creek Loop

Although located in a bit of an unusual location, the Southern Ashmun Creek Loop is perfect for any silent sports activity. Go to the back of the parking lot of Buffalo Wild Wings in the Cascade Shopping Center and spot the trailhead sign. Snowshoe the rolling terrain or glide through the cozy trail on your skis. Be prepared to be canopied by evergreens and kept company by various species of winter birds.
