Calendar of Events
The purpose of The Sault Events, Inc. is to create events that will attract tourists and future residents to the local area and to attract community members to this area to enhance our quality of life. The group will develop working relationship with various organizations, non profit groups, service clubs and businesses with the goal of promoting community prosperity.
Downtown Sault Ste. Marie’s 12th annual Oktoberfest will take place, starting at noon and continuing well into the night.
Highlights include beer barrel relay races, a tug-o-war competition, and of course beer, bratwursts and other specialty foods and beverages. Restaurants and pubs including Moloney’s Alley, Soo Brewing Company, The Palace Restaurant & Saloon, the Satisfied Frog, Subway, Frank’s Place, and Zorba’s will be selling specialty food and beverages throughout the day and providing outdoor seating.
Oktoberfest will also include a farm and craft market, polka dance classes at the polka stage, and live music late into the night at the Soo Brewing Co., and Moloney’s Alley.
7am-11am: Sault International Festival of Races finish line at the corner of Ashmun & Portage
12pm-1pm: Crime Stoppers Fire Truck Pull on the corner of Ashmun and Portage
11am-6pm: Arts, crafts, and food vendors on Portage Avenue
1pm-6pm: Music, dancing, Tug-o-War, and other games along Portage Avenue
5pm-10pm: Beer tent and live music on Portage Avenue near the Ramada Ojibway
