Watch the excitement as award-winning sculptures use chainsaws, chisels, and blowtorches to create over 50 stacked ice sculptures in downtown Sault Ste. Marie.
Sculptures are available for viewing 24 hours a day in front of participating business and will remain standing after the event – weather permitting. Also, visit the Farmer’s Market at the corner of Ashmun St and Portage Ave to view the Ice Gallery of finished sculptures.
Just a few things that will be happening during the day:
10AM LIVE CARVING at Island Books and Crafts at 101 Portage Ave
12PM LIVE CARVING at Cup of the Day at 406 Ashmun St
2PM LIVE CARVING at Parkers ACE Hardware at 819 Ashmun St
4PM Kid’s Penguin Parade starting at the 906 Gym
5PM Ice Block of Toys at the Farmers Market
6PM Ice Wars at the Farmers Market
There will also be a Grownup Charcuterie and Wine party at 1668 Winery, an outdoor bonfire party at Birds Eye Outfitters, United Way Community Bonfire Fundraiser outside of the Alpha Bar, hot chocolate and cookies for kids, and North of Chicago Pizza will be selling pizza by the slice. Don’t miss the Ice Wars Saturday evening at 6PM gather at the corner of Ashmun St and Portage Ave for ICE WARS!!! The carvers will go head to head with chainsaws and chisels competing for the approval of the crowd!
Downtown business will be open so you can stop in and warm up. Make a day of it with shopping and fantastic food downtown. Make a weekend of it and stay at one of Sault Ste. Marie’s lodging establishments.
