Bring your little Princess or Pirate to an event full of activities based around: character building, anti-bullying, and being nice.
There will be REAL Princesses and Pirates! For a nominal fee, your child can have a professional picture taken with their favorite Princess or Pirate. If your child has a Princess or Pirate costume, feel free to dress up!
Proceeds go to the Chippewa County Suicide Prevention Committee.
Join us as we host Bugsy Sailor for version 2.0 of his social media workshop. Learn new tricks, new tools, have a few good laughs, and walk away with a breadth of knowledge and understanding of social media in 2016.
Bugsy is a doer of things, ranging from the Official Unofficial Ambassador of the Upper Peninsula, creating a holiday devoted to plaid, pouring a beer for Richard Branson, and road tripping to all 50 states!
Part of the proceeds from the tournament will be put toward the establishment of a college scholarship program to encourage academic achievement and motivate individuals to become serious students of traditional martial arts. The scholarships would be open to students who plan to enroll full-time as an undergraduate at an accredited U.S. four-year college or university and meet the minimum eligibility requirements.
Mark your calendar for Pictured Rocks Days and Yoopers Ride Free. The dates are Saturday and Sunday, June 11 & 12 and is held at Bayshore Park in Munising. The festival, held by the Alger Co. Chamber of Commerce, will have vendors of all types, food, free music, kids activities, various types of entertainment and more. Last year we had over 80 vendors and over 6,000 attendees! Also Pictured Rocks Cruises will once again be offering “Yoopers Ride Free Days” on both days. This year they will be giving free rides to the first 1,500 Michigan U.P. residents each day–first come, first serve–in addition to regular paying customers. In order to obtain your free ticket, you must present in person a photo ID with an Upper Peninsula address at the Pictured Rocks Cruise ticket office that day. If you know anyone or would like to be a vendor, call the Alger County Chamber of Commerce at (906) 387-2138 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
